Self-organisation and political activity related to local issues characterises communities in the north. Hours of voluntary time is devoted to working towards making living on the estate better, easier and full of opportunities for its residents. In recent years the Council has proposed widespread demolition of homes on the estates in the north to sell off the land to private developers. The North Sheffield Action Group sprang up to fight against the plans. Click on the images to enlarge. |
